9 July 2020 – FM Logistic and Novaxia, a French-based real estate specialist, are planning to set up temporary logistics centres in vacant office buildings in the Greater Paris area (known as Ile-de-France). Their project -called PLUME- just won a call for proposals by the Ile-de-France region. It will receive public funding of €500,000.
Novaxia will identify potential buildings and ensure they are ready for staff and customers. FM Logistic will operate the micro logistics centres. To that purpose, it has designed modular installations that can be installed and removed quickly. The goal is to be close enough to consumers to be able to deliver parcels and manage returns by means of electric vehicles. These micro logistics centres will only be open for a certain period of time.
